Tau Beta Pi (TBP) is the only engineering honor society representing the entire engineering profession. It is the nation's second-oldest honor society, founded at Lehigh University in 1885. There are now collegiate chapters at 242 US colleges and universities, 39 active alumnus chapters in 16 districts across the country, and more than 554,000 total members.
Additional information on TBP is available from the national website.
Michigan Gamma is the TBP chapter at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. It was established in 1906 and has since grown to be the second largest chapter in TBP.
In addition to being one of the largest chapters, we have one of the most active as well. We co-run the SWE/TBP Career Fair with SWE each fall. We run the TBP Book Swap every semester and organize free one-on-one tutoring. We also have a number of awesome socials and intersociety activities.
