Corporate Involvement Opportunities

There are many ways for companies and individual recruiters to be involved with TBP on campus. Some examples include:

  • Information Sessions/Tech Talks: Come host an informational, instructional, or technical session to showcase what your company has to offer. These can be exclusively for TBP members or open to all students in the College of Engineering. You can find more information about hosting Information Sessions on our Corporate Involvement Opportunities Flyer.
  • Professional Development: Come discuss topics with our members that are relevant in the workplace, but often not taught in the college setting (e.g. resume critiquing, interview preparation, etc.).
  • SWE/TBP Career Fair: TBP co-hosts the engineering career fair held each fall with the Society of Women Engineers. Participating in the Career Fair is a great way to attract some of the excellent engineers at U of M and to get your name out more on campus. More information on the fair and about registration is available on the Career Fair website.
  • Service or Social Events: TBP hosts a wide variety of service and social events. Partnering with us for a service or social event is a great way to provide an informal networking opportunity with some of our members. For example, we previously hosted an event working with a corporate partner for Habitat for Humanity, followed by a networking lunch.
  • Speaking at a General Meeting: Topics should be accessible to all engineering majors (e.g. engineering in the global workplace, leadership after college, things every engineering graduate ought to know, etc.). While these are not recruiting pitches directly, they tend to be received much better by members, which is accordingly more valuable for companies. This is a great way to reach a large number of our members. Meetings are planned far in advance, so contact us at least one month prior to the start of the semester if you're interested in speaking at a meeting.

If you have an involvement idea not listed here, we are very willing to help make it a reality. We also offer a résumé book available for download on our website that includes our current members who are looking for internships and full-time jobs.
