Corporate Involvement Opportunities

There are a number of ways for companies and individual recruiters to be involved with TBP on campus. Some of these examples are listed here:

  • Speaking at a General Meeting: A great way to reach a large number of our members. Topics should be accessible to all engineering majors (e.g. engineering in the global workplace, leadership after college, things every engineering graduate ought to know, etc.). While these aren't recruiting pitches directly, they tend to be received much better by members, which is accordingly more valuable for companies.
  • Assisting with Service or Social Events: TBP hosts a wide variety of service and social events. Partnering with us for a service or social event is a great way to provide an informal networking opportunity with some of our members. (Last year, we hosted such an event with GE which was followed by a networking lunch).
  • Information Sessions: These can be informational, instructional, or technical and are a great way to showcase what your company has to offer. TBP is happy to assist with hosting one; there is a nominal cost of $75 which covers the cost of materials and advertising (it does not include the cost food).
  • SWE/TBP Career Fair: TBP co-hosts the engineering career fair held each fall with SWE. Participating in the Career Fair is a great way to attract some of the excellent engineers at UofM and to get your name out more on campus. More information on the fair and about registration is available at the Career Fair website.

In addition to these ideas, if you have an idea for involvement on campus, we are very willing to help make that a reality. We also offer a résumé book that includes our current members that are looking for internships and full-time jobs.
