Merit Badge Day I (All-Day Shift)

Event Type: K-12 Outreach Hours

Volunteers will work closely with members of Scouts BSA, helping them earn four STEM-focused merit badges: Engineering, Electronics, Programming, and Digital Technology.

Participants will complete fun and engaging activities with the Scouts, from teaching them how to program and use arduino boards, Python, and websites to encouraging their curiosity and interest in STEM related fields. While knowledge in EECS is helpful, all required technical skills will be taught at the event as required. Participants with experience in intellectual property and the history of technology are highly encouraged to join!

Merit Badge Day will take place virtually this semester, with a zoom link to be provided. A U of M Background Check and completion of BSA Youth Protection Training (YPT) are required; please contact tbp.k12outreach@umich.edu if you have any questions on how to complete this.

Note that people that sign up for this all-day shift will have priority for resources outside of your own computer.
