Event Type: Service Hours

For a service hour and free dinner, come discuss ways to improve the chapter with your fellow Tau Bates! Please sign up by 6:30 pm on Sunday 3/09 to guarantee a plate. This week, we will be discussing a few ways we conduct outreach on UM's campus!

Our tutoring service provides underclassmen with support for core entry-level coursework, and is a requirement for undergrad electees. We want to learn ways to improve our tutoring for both our tutors and students alike. Is being a tutor straightforward, and are we lacking in tutors? Do we want to bring back joint ventures for discipline-specific tutoring? Are we spreading the word adequately to students that we offer tutoring?

Prompted from discussion at 2nd Actives, we are revisiting the Underclassmen Mixer! In the past an event was held to introduce qualified underclassmen to TBP before beginning election. As we've not held this event in a long time, we will discuss if this event would be useful to bring back, and what it should look like to be most effective.

In the past, we've additionally held the MLK, Jr. Luncheon series, a set of speaker events which cover non-technical themes which build well-roundedness as engineers. While also not held recently, events which fall near or within this area have still been held for Chapter members by the PD or DEI Committees. We will discuss should and how we hold speaker events open to the whole University.
