Engineering Futures (EF) is the official professional development program of Tau Beta Pi.

Since the 1980s, the Engineering Futures program has provided professional skills training to help engineering students and practitioners develop non-technical skills that are essential for personal and professional success.

This in-person session on will be facilitated by Shelton Caruthers, the current President of the Ohio North Coast Alumni Chapter.

Engineering Day for Detroit

We will be inviting several middle schools from the larger Detroit area to University of Michigan for a day focused on engineering! We will spend the day with several hands-on modules and activities.
Middle schoolers from the Detroit area will be in attendance from 10AM-4PM for various engineering related activities (will share exact details with volunteers). We need volunteers to help us run the activities (similar to CSD/MBD) and other event aspects like set up and tear down.

The University of Michigan Engineering Webelos Engineering Day brings together scouts on campus to investigate the importance of STEM careers. Scouts spend the day working collaboratively with University of Michigan engineering students via several hands-on modules. Through conversations with students and team building activities such as the egg drop challenge, scouts can learn about engineering applications from their own first hand experiences. Join us in supporting the Maize and Blue Cupboard, a campus resource dedicated to helping students in need of food assistance! This event will focus on organizing and distributing food to fellow students. Volunteers will help with sorting, unpacking, and distributing food to ensure it reaches those who need it most.

The Winter 2025 Semesterly Banquet

Each semester, the outstanding members of the chapter are recognized at a dinner/awards ceremony hosted immediately following initiation. The best electees, electee teams, project leads, and more are recognized. Superlatives are exchanged, and a fun activity is given to the attendees. This friendly competition ends the night after recognizing the achievements of the chapter and its members over the past semester.
We have several MANDATORY requirements, detailed in the Official TBP MI-G Banquet Sign-up form. Admittance will not be approved without completing all the requirements, so read carefully and direct questions to tbp.banquet@umich.edu or Kayley Ge.
