K-12 Outreach Hours this Semester

K-12 Outreach Hours are added as scheduling permits throughout the semester, so be sure to check back later.

  • Girls in STEM Jimu Robot 🤖

    Event Type: K-12 Outreach Hours

    Birmingham Public Schools is looking for FEMALE mentors to help middle school girls to build and code a robot 🤖! Pizza will be served around 5pm. If possible, bring an iPad or iPhone.

  • Merit Badge Day 1

    Event Type: K-12 Outreach Hours

    At the University of Michigan Merit Badge Day, Scouts will explore the world of engineering and earn their Digital Technology, Programming, Electronics and Engineering Merit Badges. Scouts will learn about programming and engineering in a fun environment through multiple activities, including developing programs on an Arduino and designing simple websites, as well as learning about important topics in engineering. Scouts will learn from engineering students across several disciplines, and learn more about what it means to be an engineer.

    MindSET targets local 3rd-5th grade students and introduces STEM topics in a hands-on manner. Volunteers will work with students on designing, building, and testing various engineering problems.

  • Cub Scouts Day

    The University of Michigan Cub Scouts Engineering Day is one of our signature K-12 events. Cub Scouts will work with engineering students to investigate the importance of STEM careers through hands on modules: bridges 🌉, catapults 🎯, and egg drop 🐣.
