First General

At first general, prospective members are invited to learn more about the honors and benefits of joining Tau Beta Pi. At the meeting, officers will introduce themselves to the attendees, the vice presidents will go over the joining requirements, and then attendees will break for dinner to better meet actives and officers in attendance. This meeting is mandatory for those interested in joining Tau Beta Pi. Dinner will be provided!

Merit Badge Day 1

At the University of Michigan Merit Badge Day, Scouts will explore the world of engineering and earn their Digital Technology, Programming, Electronics and Engineering Merit Badges. Scouts will learn about programming and engineering in a fun environment through multiple activities, including developing programs on an Arduino and designing simple websites, as well as learning about important topics in engineering. Scouts will learn from engineering students across several disciplines, and learn more about what it means to be an engineer.

STEM symposium will be a venue for K-12 students to learn about cutting-edge research, interesting STEM knowledge, and STEM career pathways via talks, posters, and lab tours. This will be an opportunity for K-12 students to further spark their interest in STEM. Please join to inspire young minds in STEM!

Engineering Day for Detroit

We will be inviting several middle schools from the larger Detroit area to University of Michigan for a day focused on engineering! We will spend the day with several hands-on modules and activities.
Middle schoolers from the Detroit area will be in attendance from 10AM-4PM for various engineering related activities (will share exact details with volunteers). We need volunteers to help us run the activities (similar to CSD/MBD) and other event aspects like set up and tear down.

Cub Scouts Day

The University of Michigan Engineering Webelos Engineering Day brings together scouts on campus to investigate the importance of STEM careers. Scouts spend the day working collaboratively with University of Michigan engineering students via several hands-on modules. Through conversations with students and team building activities such as the egg drop challenge, scouts can learn about engineering applications from their own first hand experiences. The University of Michigan has a long standing tradition of hosting Webelos Engineering Day to promote engineering to the next generation within a fun, interactive environment.
