Event Type: Service Hours

Town Hall meetings, similar to New Initiatives, offer us the chance to discuss upcoming business with the Chapter as a whole. Last semester, following recommendations at New Initiatives meetings, the Officer Corps formed several small working groups to make recommendations to changes in leadership structure and operations. We are now ready to present the findings of these groups!

This Town Hall will offer you the chance to learn about these recommendations and offer your thoughts before voting meetings. If you're impacted by or interested in Project Leading, Chair positions (including Career Fair), we will cover this and more!

Dinner will be provided. I (Aiden) will be staying for several hours. Members who stick around with me and keep discussing past the scheduled end time may be awarded additional service hour credit.

Engineering Day for Detroit

We will be inviting several middle schools from the larger Detroit area to University of Michigan for a day focused on engineering! We will spend the day with several hands-on modules and activities.
Middle schoolers from the Detroit area will be in attendance from 10AM-4PM for various engineering related activities (will share exact details with volunteers). We need volunteers to help us run the activities (similar to CSD/MBD) and other event aspects like set up and tear down.

Merit Badge Day 2

At the University of Michigan Merit Badge Day, Scouts will explore the world of engineering and earn their Digital Technology, Programming, Electronics and Engineering Merit Badges. Scouts will learn about programming and engineering in a fun environment through multiple activities, including developing programs on an Arduino and designing simple websites, as well as learning about important topics in engineering. Scouts will learn from engineering students across several disciplines, and learn more about what it means to be an engineer.

Cub Scouts Day

The University of Michigan Engineering Webelos Engineering Day brings together scouts on campus to investigate the importance of STEM careers. Scouts spend the day working collaboratively with University of Michigan engineering students via several hands-on modules. Through conversations with students and team building activities such as the egg drop challenge, scouts can learn about engineering applications from their own first hand experiences. The University of Michigan has a long standing tradition of hosting Webelos Engineering Day to promote engineering to the next generation within a fun, interactive environment.
