We'll have a slate of officers, chairs, and project leads who will talk about their experiences with leadership and answer any questions you may have. Food will be provided.

UMSO Region 9 Tournament

University of Michigan Science Olympiad (UMSO) runs the annual District 9 tournament for Ann Arbor area schools. Like the UMSO invitational, they require many volunteers to help run events.

Merit Badge Day 2

At the University of Michigan Merit Badge Day, Scouts will explore the world of engineering and earn their Digital Technology, Programming, Electronics and Engineering Merit Badges. Scouts will learn about programming and engineering in a fun environment through multiple activities, including developing programs on an Arduino and designing simple websites, as well as learning about important topics in engineering. Scouts will learn from engineering students across several disciplines, and learn more about what it means to be an engineer.

NROTC Tutoring

Since F22, TBP has extended our tutoring services to the Naval ROTC battalion of the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. During their study hours, TBP members sign up to cover shifts and answer their questions, mostly for introductory courses like PHYSICS 140/240 and MATH 115/116.
Tutors will go to the Observatory Lodge, OBL 2102 (in front of MOJO). To be let into the building, either email tchacon@umich.edu, or (until 2/15, after which there will be two new proctors) phone the proctors that ill open the door to you.

The Winter 2026 Semesterly Banquet

Each semester, the outstanding members of the chapter are recognized at a dinner/awards ceremony hosted immediately following initiation. The best electees, electee teams, project leads, and more are recognized. Superlatives are exchanged, and a fun activity is given to the attendees. This friendly competition ends the night after recognizing the achievements of the chapter and its members over the past semester.
We have several MANDATORY requirements, detailed in the Official TBP MI-G Banquet Sign-up form. Admittance will not be approved without completing all the requirements, so read carefully and direct questions to tbp.banquet@umich.edu or Jaccob Bell

Order of the Engineer

The Order of the Engineer ceremony seeks to promote professionalism and ethics in engineering. Graduates who participate in the ceremony receive a special ring to remind them of their responsibility as an engineer. The event is available to all graduating students in the College of Engineering.
As a volunteer, you will provide assistance for set up, sign-in, food, etc. Dress code will be business casual.
Note: The service hours for this event will count toward the Fall 2026 semester (unless arranged otherwise).
