The NEST Engineering Skills Series is a new series of workshops in the spirit of TBP's NEST program, where MI-G members will gain hands-on experience with valuable engineering skills and tools, regardless of major or experience level.
PCB design, or printed circuit board design, is a fundamental engineering skill used to create the physical layout of electronic circuits. PCBs are used in nearly every modern electronic device—from consumer electronics to aerospace systems. This workshop will introduce participants to the basics of PCB design using Altium, a professional-grade electronics design software widely used in industry. Attendees will learn how to create schematics, route circuit boards, and understand the workflow from circuit concept to manufacturable board.
This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to electronics design, build practical engineering skills, and explore a tool used by engineers across many disciplines. No prior experience with electronics or PCB design is required!
Please fill out this form and get an Altium account at least the day before the training: https://teamdynamix.umich.edu/TDClient/76/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=9259![]()
