The 2015 Convention wrapped up Halloween evening in Providence, RI. During the Convention, MI G delegates were able to participate in professional development sessions, inter-chapter exchanges, committee meetings, and business meetings. Perhaps the most important involvement was the work in securing the Convention approval to host the 2017 Convention in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area in conjunction with the University of Michigan’s Bicentennial. This undertaking began as far back as 2006 during the chapter’s centennial celebration and has been made possible by work from numerous dedicated members. While the work is, in many ways, just getting started, the chapter already owes a great debt of gratitude to all those who have made this achievement possible.
In addition to the Convention site selection, the chapter was also recognized for its ongoing commitment to going above and beyond with chapter projects. Recognized with the Chapter Projects Award for the 17th time consecutively, the chapter hosted 99 projects ranging from small community outreach projects to the (at the time) largest SWE/TBP Career Fair to date.
